CONDUCT: Please be kind, courteous and respectful. All members are responsible for contributing to a positive community spirit. If the admins determine a member is impacting the community negatively, the member may receive a warning, or removal from the community (either temporarily or permanently), depending on the circumstances. Have an issue with another member? DO NOT post about the situation (this will be a strike). Message an admin if a situation arises that can not be worked out in private message between yourself and the member.
ORDER OF SELLING: Interested buyers must click the Message Seller button. Clicking the Message Seller button will automatically make a comment, and contacting the seller is the first step in arranging purchase of the item. Things to remember:
An interested party should get 12 hours to contact the seller to set a pick up time.
Items must be sold in order of those who click "Message Seller" creating an Interested comment on the post for the item. Sending a message alone will not hold your place in line.
Items must be posted individually or priced as a firm lot (unwilling to separate).
If an item is cross posted (or even shared on Facebook), you must post that in the description of the item.
Only free items may be posted as first come, first served. You must post that in the description of the free item. There are no holds allowed for a free FCFS item.
This is not a bidding site where the item can be sold to the highest offer. Items must have a price when posting for sale. Price of the item may not be raised once interest is expressed.
PROHIBITED ITEMS: Familiarize yourself with the official VarageSale list of prohibited items (which can be found at http://help.varagesale.com/article/371-what-items-are-not-allowed). In addition, please be aware that the following items are expressly prohibited in our community:
Any type of pet. The only type of animal posts allowed in this community are those for lost and found animals. Any listings for animals will be immediately deleted.
Knives (hunting, ornamental, ect.) are not allowed.
Air Soft guns.
BB Guns
Food items (including baby formula and shake mixes)
Medication
Expired car seats as well as car seats that have been involved in an accident.
Drop side cribs.
Recalled items.

SELLING ITEMS:
Accurately describe your items (including any flaws the item may have). If someone complains that an item was not as described, it may be counted as a strike.
Do not sell an item for more than you purchased it for ON THIS PAGE.
Mark your items as Pending or Sold, as appropriate (even when pending on another site item is cross posted to) Items marked as Sold will automatically be removed from your items after seven days. If you choose to delete an item once it is sold, it may be counted as a strike.
If a seller has had an issue with a buyer, or generally feels uncomfortable, s/he should block the potential buyer. The admin team will never make a member sell an item to another member that makes them uncomfortable. (NOTE: Members are usually not notified when they receive a strike)
*All transactions must take place in the immediate Sycamore area. (Sycamore, DeKalb, Cortland, Genoa, Malta, and Maple Park).
AGE: You must be 18 years of age or older to enter into a transaction in this community. If someone reports that you are under the age of 18, the admin team may ask you to provide proof or your age.
BUYING/NO SHOWS: If you are interested in an item, it is your responsibility to comment on the item and make arrangements with the seller to pick up the item in a timely manner. If you continually post that you are interested in items and then do not follow through, it will be counted as a strike. If you are a no show, it is a strike.
Things to remember:
Any problems with a transaction must be reported within 10 days of purchase.
If you are purchasing an electronic item, ask the seller to demonstrate how it works before you purchase it.
If you are purchasing a cell phone, it is good practice to meet at the carrier's store to make sure everything is transferred properly.
This is a BUYER BEWARE site!!! Check out all items before you pay for them! Once a transaction is complete, the only thing the admin team can do is notate a member's file. The admin team will never force a seller to offer a refund. It is the buyer's responsibility to thoroughly inspect an item before purchasing it.
SUSPENSION AND/OR REVOKING OF MEMBERSHIP: Removal from the group is at the discretion of the admin team. We follow a three-strikes policy in this community for inappropriate behavior, including no-shows. We rely on member reports to enforce this. At the first report, the account is noted and monitored. At the second report, the member is sent a warning. At the third report, the member will be removed from the community. If you’d like to report a member, please send a private message to any member of the admin team and include any screenshots of your conversation with the member.
ARRESTS: If you are arrested for anything, the admin team reserves the right to revoke your membership.
